Under the Statistics Act Cap. 192, all citizens of Barbados who are resident on the island as well as citizens of other countries who have been permitted by the Chief Immigration Officer to remain in the Island for a period of not less than six (6) months may be registered and receive the Barbados Identification card.
Regulation 10 states that “A person is qualified to be registered if he is:
- a citizen of Barbados or
- a citizen of a country other than Barbados who is granted permission by the Chief Immigration Officer to remain in Barbados for a period of not less than six (6) months.”
